Abstract

PROBLEM: what are the neuropsychological consequences of visual pollution in the Guatemalan population? because at present visual pollution is perceived both in the streets of different departments and in television programs, generating as a result various factors that conclude negatively in the brain. OBJECTIVE: to identify the neuropsychological consequences of visual pollution of adults attending psychotherapy in Guatemala. METHOD: the cross-sectional study is defined as a type of observational research, which allows analyzing data on variables that are collected over a period on a sample made up of a certain population. RESULTS: The largest sample in the study is 64.5 % corresponding to the population aged 18 to 20 years, 51% of the sample corresponds to the female sex and 49% to the male sex, in profession there was a higher percentage of students with 39.2%; 12.8% of people who have no religion, and the religion of greater affluence is Catholic with 54.9%. The Mood Assessment test is observed at 41.93% with joy, 35.49% with anger – hostility, 19.36% with anxiety and 3.22% with depression. Also 51.62% of the population suffers from anxiety disorder not otherwise specified, while 3.22% major depressive disorder. CONCLUSION: psychotherapy assistants have a mood of high joy, so it is concluded that they take advantage of the resources obtained in it to mitigate the impact of visual pollution.
