Abstract

Given the problem of observing the poor diet they consume and the little or no physical activity that students do, the research was carried out with the objective of determining the consistency of physical activity and the healthy diet of students in the careers of Engineering of the CUNORI University Center. It is an investigation of the descriptive-quantitative type, taking a sample of 212 students of the engineering careers of the University Center of Oriente CUNORI. A survey of 15 questions was prepared with the purpose of knowing how often they perform physical activity and the type of food that the students ingest, as well as the height was measured by means of a height rod, to then weigh each one by means of a scale to obtain BMI (body mass index). In the main results it was identified that 33.49% have moderate obesity and 19.81% have morbid obesity. 96% care about their health, only 32% of them do not care about it. However, 59% do not consume healthy eating. 88% of students know the kind of food they should consume to be healthy 50.9% do physical activity such as swimming and walking, but only 58% of students do physical activity but not systematically and continuously. 90% of students would like to participate in sports mornings that allow them to perform more physical activities. Based on the previous results, it was determined that a little more than half of the students do physical activity and also more than 50% do not consume healthy eating.
