Psychological wellbeing during the Covid-19 pandemic in women from an association in the municipality of Zacapa

Abstract

OBJECTIVE: evaluate the degrees of psychological well-being of the members of a women's association in the Municipality of Zacapa during the Covid-19 pandemic; evidencing the factors associated with the levels of psychological well-being. METHOD: A descriptive cross-sectional study was developed in 105 women belonging to an association in the municipality of Zacapa. RESULTS: through the present study it was evidenced that the age range with the highest frequency of the participating women was from 37 to 48 years, which prevailed with 60% (N = 63), according to the marital status, most of the women indicated that they were together with 46.7% (N = 49), 50.5% (N = 53) of the women have only completed the primary academic level and the work area performed by 60.9% (N = 64) of the women is in the sector private. Through the evaluation of psychological well-being according to the Ryff scale, the largest number of women manifested a low degree of psychological well-being, which is represented by 39.1% (N = 41) of the population and it was determined that the increase in debt presents a higher incidence during Covid-19, which is represented by 68.6% (N = 72) of the population. CONCLUSION: There is a relationship between low levels of psychological well-being and the increase in debt during the Covid-19 pandemic in the women participating in the present study, represented with a p value of less than 0.00001; being statistically significant.
